Hello, I am David and Merry. Merry Christmas 2024 to each and every one of you. As is our custom each and every year, we share the Dominican tradition of reading, or sometimes singing, the proclamation of our Lord's Nativity on Christmas day at midnight mass. And because many have commented that they had not heard it before, um from a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much, we will continue and we will share again this year that Dominican proclamation as well as in keeping with our Lord's commandment to spread the good news to all the ends of the earth. So here is the reading of the Dominican proclamation of our Lord's nativity on Christmas day at midnight mass. Enjoy Today, the 25th day of December.

Unknown ages from the time when God created the heavens and the earth and then formed man and a woman in his own image. Several thousand years after the flood when God made the rainbow shine forth as a sign of the covenant. 21 centuries from the time of Abraham and Sarah. 13 centuries after Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt. 1,100 years from the time of Ruth and the judges. 1,000 years from the anointing of David as king In the 65th week according to the prophecy of Daniel in the 194th Olympiad, the 752nd year from the foundation of the city of Rome, the 42nd year of the reign of Octavian Augustus Caesar. The whole world being at peace. Whole world being at peace, jesus Christ, eternal God and Son of the Eternal Father, desiring to sanctify the world by his most merciful coming, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and nine months having passed since his conception was born in Bethlehem of Judea of the Virgin Mary and became man, today is the nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh. And, like I say each and every year, that reading those words and hearing them pronounced each and every year almost brings me to tears.

I will include last year's reading of that Dominican proclamation where I recorded it by video. I'll include that in the show notes. And as we contemplated last year the Christ child, let us renew in 2024 that same contemplation of Christ coming into the world in the flesh, a profound meditation to certainly dwell upon. And also let us share this and the beauty and the joy of Christmas music that we do each and every year. Merry Christmas this 2024 to each and every one of you. May God's graces be showered upon each and every one of you and your families. And again, merry Christmas ¶¶ ¶¶.
